Dubai Charity Association has announced the launch of its unique social initiative, "Iffa," to support young people preparing for marriage. Launched under the slogan " A Hand That Facilitates the Halal Way" the initiative aims to assist low-income youth in getting married, enabling them to build stable families that strengthen social cohesion and reduce the negative social impacts of delayed marriage. It also seeks to promote the values of solidarity and compassion within communities.
The initiative includes a comprehensive package of carefully designed programs and projects aimed at addressing the needs of young people on various levels, both within the UAE and across 14 countries worldwide. These programs offer direct financial grants to eligible beneficiaries, provide essential marriage requirements such as furniture and basic household appliances, contribute to covering initial wedding expenses, and support youth in overcoming the challenges of building a financially and emotionally stable life.
On this occasion, His Excellency Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Dubai Charity Association, emphasized the significant impact of the "Iffa" initiative. He highlighted that, in line with Dubai Charity’s focus during the Year of Community, the initiative addresses the direct needs of beneficiaries and promotes self-reliance. He noted that marriage assistance is, at its core, one of the most effective ways to empower young people and help them become self-sufficient. Marriage, he said, is one of the greatest pillars of human civilization—it is the only system that ensures the continuity of humanity and fosters its development. Moreover, it is a vital means of protecting societies and fostering psychological comfort and social stability.
The Executive Director of Dubai Charity Association added: "This initiative aims to empower our youth to build stable families on solid foundations—away from debt and loans. We see around us how high dowries and the rising cost of marriage have become major challenges, leading to numerous social issues, including many young people turning away from marriage due to financial burdens beyond their means. Through our support, young individuals will be able to focus on building their professional futures and contributing effectively to the development process.
His Excellency Ahmed Al Suwaidi called on partners and ambassadors of goodwill to engage with and support this noble initiative—whether through financial or in-kind contributions, or by spreading awareness about its goals and significance. He stated: "The Iffa” initiative is a true opportunity for all of us to bring smiles to the faces of ambitious young individuals by offering them a dignified start to a happy married life.
