Dubai Charity Association organized a celebration for orphaned children as part of its Ramadan initiative, "Ramadan Joy." The event was held in collaboration with Amwaj Rotana Hotel, Lius Development, and Dubai Media, represented by the program "Al Mandous," hosted by Emirati media personality Abdullah Ismail.
The event, held in the Sadaf Hall at Amwaj Rotana – Jumeirah, was attended by a large number of orphaned children and their families, as well as representatives from the sponsoring and supporting entities. The celebration featured various entertainment and educational segments, the distribution of Mir Ramadan cards, gifts, and prizes to the children, in addition to enjoying Iftar together
In the event's opening speech, His Excellency Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Dubai Charity Association, congratulated the attendees on the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan. He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant everyone, as well as our beloved country, the UAE—its wise leadership and generous people—and the Arab and Islamic nations continued goodness, prosperity, security, and peace.
His Excellency Ahmed Al Suwaidi expressed his pride in organizing this event and extended his gratitude to all the sponsoring and supporting entities that contributed to its success. He stated, "Dubai Charity Association has given special care and exceptional support to orphans since its establishment 45 years ago. This commitment has remained unwavering over the decades, in adherence to the teachings and values of our noble religion, as well as a reflection of the UAE’s established humanitarian policies, the vision and guidance of our wise leadership, and the deep-rooted values and heritage of the Emirati people, who are known for their generosity and love for charitable work
The Executive Director of Dubai Charity Association added: "Dubai Charity Association currently sponsors 14,000 orphaned children within the UAE, in addition to supporting orphans in 16 countries worldwide. This falls within the framework of our humanitarian programs and comprehensive charitable projects, with financial entitlements reaching AED 13.5 million in 2024. Additionally, we provide seasonal services, as well as entertainment and cultural programs aimed at ensuring a dignified life for them and their families while strengthening the spirit of solidarity and compassion within the community.
The event featured the recording of a special episode of the "Al Mandous" program, broadcast on Sama Dubai channel, where children participated in fun competitions and received prizes offered by the show. The recording brought joy and happiness to the children, who expressed their delight at taking part in the program and interacting with its host.
The event was well received by the orphaned children and their families, who expressed their happiness in participating in this annual event organized by Dubai Charity Association.
